Is It Safe To Bring My Child To The Dentist During COVID-19?

Is It Safe To Bring My Child To The Dentist During COVID-19? Yes – Don’t Skip Appointments!

If you’ve been holding off on seeing a pediatric dentist for the first time or your kids are overdue for their routine cleanings due to COVID-19, we get it. Their safety is the most important thing to you!

But routine dental care can help them keep their mouths healthy, and at Little Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, we’re doing everything we can to provide kids with a safe, fun, and low-risk environment for pediatric dentistry in Ashburn. Read on, and see why it’s so important to visit Dr. Jonathan Konz for routine care at our office.

Don’t Let COVID-19 Stop Your Child From Getting Routine Preventive Care

Young kids need regular preventive dental care for a few different reasons. First, seeing a dentist like Dr. Konz every six months ensures their mouths are free of gum disease and tooth decay, and that any potential issues are treated right away.

Dr. Konz can even provide treatments like dental sealants and fluoride varnish, which reduce the risk of developing cavities and keep your child’s mouth healthy. These treatments are typically covered by most dental insurance plans, helping you save money and stretch your budget.

Seeing the dentist routinely also helps your child learn more about the importance of dentistry. They’ll be more likely to maintain good oral hygiene habits as they grow, and they will be less likely to be scared, nervous, or intimidated by dentistry.

For all of these reasons, you should schedule a consultation at our office right away if your child is overdue for care. We’re doing our best to keep patients safe and are continuing to provide excellent care in Ashburn.

How We’re Keeping Patients Safe At Little Smiles Pediatric Dentistry

We are taking COVID-19 seriously. Even though vaccination programs have helped reduce risks, we are still taking steps to keep patients safe, such as:

  • Questionnaires and screenings – All patients are required to fill out questionnaires and screening forms to ensure we do not treat people who may be infected with COVID-19.

  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing efforts – We have always followed infection control guidelines when cleaning patient operating rooms, and we are also redoubling our efforts and are cleaning common surfaces in bathrooms and waiting areas regularly, including door knobs, counters, sinks, chairs, tables, and more.

  • PPE for all team members – Our team members are still wearing masks, and we ask that if you or your children are not fully vaccinated, you wear a mask to your appointment. Our team members are also wearing additional PPE as necessary for your protection.
